Certifications and Accreditations
ISO 9001:2008 Certified
CEMSI has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification from Intertek, Inc., a quality management systems registrar. ISO 9001:2008 is an internationally recognized quality management system standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
CEMIS’s Quality Policy states: “CEMSI will meet or exceed all of its Quality System Requirements and Customer Specifications by involving every employee in the continual quality improvement effort. Each CEMSI employee is responsible for preventing and identifying quality issues and has the right to bring these issues to any level of the organization necessary to facilitate resolution.” In order to better meet customer requirements and sustain continual improvement, CEMSI established, implemented, and documented ISO 9001:2008 requirements. Certification to ISO 9001:2008 reinforces to CEMSI customers that we operate a Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with the standard.
ITAR - International Traffic in Arms Regulations – Registered
CEMSI has acquired ITAR Registration with the US Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC). ITAR compliance is a key CEMSI strategic program to support our Military and Homeland Security customers to conform to International Traffic in Arms Regulations under 22 CFR 120-130 and the Arms Export Control Act. ITAR regulations were designed to control the information and materials of military-related technologies.
ITAR ensures that military technologies are only shared with US nationals and persons with special exemption from the Department of State. Upon verification of a company’s ITAR compliance, an ITAR Registration Code is assigned and certifies the company’s clearance to work in conjunction with the US military and its counterparts. Additionally, ITAR certification expresses the company’s obligation to handle ITAR-protected products while abiding to all ITAR regulations.
RoHS Compliant
The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This directive will ban the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants from 1 July 2006.
All of CEMSI's processes are compliant to meet the requirements of Lead Free and RoHS manufacturing. CEMSI is in the process of becoming an IPC certified RoHS compliant facility.
